DenPeeps Interview

DenPeeps:

Tell me about your approach to customer service?

Phillis

Customer service and satisfaction is my priority.  No referrals will come to me otherwise without it and to give great value to my clients and customers.  When participants take my classes or hire me for consulting and business services, I always over-deliver and give them more value than what they paid for the class or the service.

DenPeeps

What advice would you give others in your industry starting a business?

Phillis

Anybody can sell you on their services, and for me, at the beginning, I wanted to do everything and felt I needed all the services people offered, but as I narrowed my focus on got very clear on my niche, I realized that I had to discern what services I REALLY needed as I made my way through the process.

DenPeeps:

What knowledge did you WISH you had before you started your business?

Phillis:

That you have to have much money in the bank to start your business because the expenses run into thousands and thousands of dollars.

DenPeeps:

How do you balance being a CEO and being a worker bee? Do you take time off? Do you have to schedule it?

Phillis:

I am learning to better balance work with play.  It is still skewed and not totally balanced so it is having the awareness to ask myself exactly what business commitments I have and to also remember that I require down time too.  I’ve had to take a closer look at my calendar and see where my priorities lie.

DenPeeps:

What advice would you give a young person just going to college?

Phillis:

Find something you are passionate about and go for it.  Society and our parents keep us in a box.  Dream big and do what makes you happy because if you don’t do what you feel jazzed about doing, you’ll wake up one day and see that life has passed you by.  Whatever you do, make sure you are in alignment and integrity with EVERYTHING you do.  I always remember that and it’s the basis for all of my business decisions.

DenPeeps:

What is your “oldest trick in the book”. What in your business works every time?

Phillis:

Be honest, do everything with integrity and ethics, give your customer great value for their money and the best customer service!

DenPeeps:

How did your business start? What is the history?

Phillis:

I started my business, Be Brave Say Yes! Transformational Life and Business Education as I was working full-time in a corporate job, but it was difficult to gain traction when I couldn’t devote as much time and energy towards it so I eventually took the leap of faith and dived in head first to do the work I’m passionate about doing on a full-time basis.  As I delved into my own personal development work, I saw an avenue to be able to help and guide people through the process through self-awareness via self-discovery.  People are hungry for more and want more out of life, they don’t want to remain stagnant and aren’t willing to settle.  I have a life-changing every day self-awareness tool to help them move forward in their life.  I also see an avenue to be able to help companies in the areas of leadership, team building, employee relations and sales.  My business not only includes individual clients, but has evolved into teaching workshops and doing retreats as well as providing consulting and business services to companies.
